about

Dave Miller--guitar, effects
Cory Healey--drums, percussion, radio
Caleb Willitz--engineering, mixing
Brian Bulard--mastering
Tim Newsum--artwork

Swimmer is love. Swimmer is trust. Swimmer is beauty and disgust. This album is a humble offering for the adventurous listener who appreciates the mysterious and inexplicable sides of music. All the music on this album was completely improvised without any overdubs. Caleb Willitz did an amazing job engineering the proceedings.

Dave Miller and Cory Healey have been playing together for many years and have toured the world, together and separately, playing the music they love. They are both entrenched in the burgeoning Chicago creative music scene (jazz, noise, improvised music, etc.) and are well known for their work in their ongoing experimental rock band, Algernon (Cuneiform Records).

Improvised music can be a tricky trade, especially in the studio. The first six tracks are pulled from the first and main recording session (February 2010) in its entirety. We've played so much together over the years in different contexts that performing and recording as a duo seemed to strip things down to a very simple format that was very comfortable. At the same time, things felt very fresh, so we decided to keep everything! The last track, "Status What?," was recorded in the second and final session (April 2010).

Thank you:
Caleb Willitz, for all your hard work engineering/mixing and helping our album see the light of day.

Brian Bullard, for putting the nice mastering touch on the album at Spank Music & Sound Design.

Tim Newsum, for the beautiful artwork.

Thank YOU for listening! Enjoy...
